Meeting Notes

1. Good Things: Lowcountry cares will continue this weekend despite the weather. Robotics competition took place before the break, the students were excited. New Chick-Fil-A is open.
2. Upcoming Events
a. Steam Night: January 16, 2025
i. Our Bearbots and the FDHS Robotics teams will present
ii. Idea for next year, search for mobile breakout room company
iii. Mrs. Flood will help with STEAM night
b. International Night: January 23, 2025 (tentative)
i. 17 families will be participating in the night
ii. Collaboration with OMS over 18 countries represented at OES
iii. Look for invites
iv. Mr. Ward will help with International Night
3. Capturing Kids Hearts and Survey
a. Mrs. Boutin will present the breakdown of the data from the survey at the next SIC meeting
b. Areas for the Capturing Kids Heart Application EXCEL: Engage, Explore, Communicate, Empower, Launch
4. Questions/Concerns/Announcements/Ideas
a. Nomination Season for STAR Performers (Mrs. Cook), Teacher of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Guidance Counselor of the Year.
b. Mrs. Flood was asked to judge the Teacher of The Year Process.
c. Parents were asked if they think it’s late to send out information on sponsors for the Boosterthon. There is a submission form link that we can include to send to the potential sponsors.
d. Mrs. Boutin will get the information out today.
e. Fun Run is February 14, 2025
f. Plans to use digital boards to display logos for sponsors.
g. 7:30-1:30pm. We will need help with 4th and 5th graders (throwing colors)
h. The funds would go towards stage renovation because our current one is outdated.
i. Mrs. Boutin will contact Jason Walsh at the District office about estimates.
i. Ideas for fundraisers
J. What are we doing for an incentive: Sliming or silly string
Mr. Ward suggested the goal prize being a reward for the students. i.e. donuts with officer Corbett, visit from the stingrays, College basketball players, sumo suits, jump castle obstacle course, teachers vs. students competition
K. Tomorrow is the PBIS celebration
L. Mr. Ward will assist with creating the posters for the Sandwich board
